Today is such an important day for every Shahrukh Khan fan across the globe as the trailer of his much anticipated film Raees released. And judging by the trailer, the film is going to be a blockbuster.
Starring Shah Rukh Khan in and as Raees, alongside Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a lot of expectations are on this movie. There are two sides to the magnanimous Shah Rukh Khan. One is Shah Rukh the Star that you see in most masala movies like Dilwale and Chennai Express. The other is Shah Rukh the Actor that we have all been a fan of since Darr.
Of late, India’s favourite superstar had been doing movies that featured his star power more than the acting skills he is critically acclaimed for. With Fan, that the monotony was broken and more recently, Dear Zindagi showed us a glimpse of what Shah Rukh the Actor is really like. But with Raees, the bar is going to be set really high.
Set in the 1980s Gujarat, Raees is the story of a notorious businessman and criminal Abdul Latif. He ran an illegal liquor business and eventually monopolized it all over the state. Shah Rukh plays Raees Alam (a character based on Abdul Latif), Nawazuddin plays ACP Ghulam while Mahira Khan plays Mohsina. Sunny Leone makes a special appearance as Laila.
If you’ve seen the trailer, you must be already going all gag over Shah Rukh’s look and the powerful dialogues of the movie. Mahira Khan looks absolutely beautiful. The music of the movie has revamped songs of that era, especially Laila O Laila, which is featured in the trailer.
The release of the trailer was marketed really well by the team. Screened across 3500 screens all over India while Shah Rukh interacting live with the audience in select theatres. The trailer was to be released in theatres at 11 and was made available on YouTube at 12:30.
It must be really hard for Shah Rukh fans to wait for 25 January 2017 when they’ll get to watch their favourite actor on silver screen in a movie that has been the talk to the town for about 3 years. Produced by Excel and Red Chillies Entertainment, directed by Rahul Dholakia and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Raees hits the box office on 25th January. Can you wait?
