A lot of things happened in the past 24 hours, and honestly, nobody knows how to deal with all of this. Who knew being pressured by a lot of information was going to be a thing. November 8 and 9, 2016 are going to go down in history as days of brilliance and chaos respectively.
The Modi government started with its wonders after overthrowing what is said to be the most powerful family in Indian politics, the Gandhis. That was victory in itself for Narendra Modi, our honourable Prime Minister who promised to bring about a change in India that has never been seen before. With the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and Make In India campaign, a lot was being done. And just when we thought this is the only reform that’s going to happen in Modi’s term of 5 years, boom! He comes up with his master stroke that is just a trailer of what all can be expected in the near future.
Black money is one of the biggest problems that hinders the progress of India. Not only has it made the rich richer and the poor poorer, it is one of the key sources of financing terrorist groups. The world is a victim of terrorism, especially India with cross border terrorist activity. To curb this, the Modi led government decided to put a ban on 500 and 1000 rupees notes, whilst the RBI issues brand new 500 rupees notes and 2000 rupees notes that will be replacing 1000. He has given a period of 50 days where people can get their notes deposited/exchanged from banks and post offices.
This is a brilliant move by our dope Prime Minister who was able to keep this plan a total secrecy so that people who have a lot of black money stacked couldn’t get it exchanged in any way. From today, 500 and 1000 rupees notes have no value. If it’s white money, you can get it exchanged. Otherwise, you’re pretty much doomed. Well played Modi ji, well played!
In the other part of the world, things aren’t going too well. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump running as candidates for Presidentship of the United States of America had the ultimate showdown today. 9th November would decide the result of their year long campaigns and we have a winner. Donald Trump, a man with no political background, smashes the Democratic Party led by Hillary Clinton to fill in the shoes of Barack Obama as the new President of the United States.
Over the course of few months, a lot was said by Donald Trump. He has been trashed by the media for his sexist, racist and misogynist comments, and accused of being a molester among other things. It was crystal clear that Hillary Clinton would turn out to be the President as Trump had many haters. But, shit happened.
Garnering 276 votes over Hillary’s 218 votes, Donald Trump and the Republicans clean slated the Elections 2016, including the House and US Senate. This was a huge disappointment from one of the world’s superpower countries and every country is now mocking the big American blunder. Trump has openly condemned Muslims, immigrants and everyone else who he thinks are not worthy of living in America. With him being the President, we can expect what kind of changes are about to come and in what hands has America chosen itself to be in.
If you’re one of those people who have the big American dream of studying and living in the greatest country, you can forget about it now. Not only Trump’s America is going to get too hard to enter, immigrants who are already living there are going to see tough times ahead. God bless America indeed!
The two greatest democracies in the world have gone through a tremendous change that is going to change their fate for better and worse. India’s huge step to curb black money is a promise of the Achhe Din Modi ji believes in. The American blunder might prove to be a worse decision than Brexit. This year definitely ended on a massive note.
A huge shoutout to Prime Minister Modi for an incredible step towards making India great and stealing the thunder from American Elections. Our country is definitely in safe hands.
