It’s always a good year when many good movies are expected to release. 2017 was a good year for both Bollywood and Hollywood movies that entertained us throughout. 2018 is going to be no less as many movies are scheduled to release this year. Here are movies in 2018 that you definitely need to watch –
1. Padman
That’s right, a movie called Padman is set to hit the theatres on 25th January. Starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte, the film is based on a real-life social activist of Tamil Nadu who popularized menstrual hygiene in rural India. Nothing to shy away from now, is there?
2. Black Panther
In Captain America: Civil War, T’Challa or Black Panther was introduced for the first time. The Wakandan Prince is set to hit the screens with his stand-alone feature film on 16th February. Not only do we get a kick-ass hero, but also the premise leading to Infinity Wars storyline.
3. Padmavat
After controversies, name changes and will it/won’t it release debates, Padmavat is finally getting the release it deserves. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus is arriving on January 25th, starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. Finally, it’s happening!
4. Avengers: The Infinity War
On Star Wars Day this year, the biggest release is set to ignite the screens. There’s a lot expected from this movie as it boasts of an elaborate star cast, with a team of superheroes coming together to bring down Thanos. Action-packed entertainment is guaranteed on May 4th, 2018.
5. Pari
Anushka Sharma’s production house is back with another movie. This one looks like it’s going to give us the chills, a good Indian horror movie after a long time. Pari, starring Anushka Sharma will hit the screens on 2nd March, fueling your Holi with the colours of horror. Get ready.
6. Insidious: The Last Key
If you haven’t seen Insidious: The Last Key yet, please do. The Insidious series scare even the most fearless person. The movie released on 5th January, just last week. Watch the movie this weekend and prepare to have sleepless nights for a week after watching it. Are you scared already?
7. Hichki
Rani Mukherjee and Yashraj Productions team up to give you an entertainer with a social message. Hichki trailer promises a good at heart movie that follows the story of a teacher who is determined to educate despite of suffering from Tourette syndrome. The movie releases on 23rd February.
8. Ocean’s 8
The all-women reboot of Ocean’s Eleven is set to give you the entertainment you deserve. Starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathway, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina, the movie will release on 8th June this year. You cannot miss it.
9. Sanju
Sanjay Dutt’s life has been one of many ups and downs. The rise of a superstar, the fall and the comeback is going to be shown in Sanju, a biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, the movie will give everyone an insight into Sanjay Dutt. It is scheduled to release on 29th June.
10. Deadpool 2
Deadpool was an incredible R-rated surprise hit no one had anticipated. It wasn’t even given a green light until the people involved were really adamant about it. And now, it is among the best superhero movies. Starring Ryan Reynolds, the sequel will be released on 1st June. Feel the goosebumps?
11. Veere Di Wedding
When four friends get together for a wedding, emotions, chaos and loads of fun can be expected. The film stars Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in lead roles, giving the expectations of a good chick-flick to enjoy with friends. The film will release on 18th May.
12. The Nun
The Conjuring series has always been a favourite of horror fans. The Conjuring 2 introduced a ghost that scared the life out of us all. The Nun or Valak got a stand-alone film, the origin story of the Demon Nun. We can be sure it’s going to further deepen our fears. It will release on July 13th.
13. Thugs of Hindostan
Aamir Khan is back with another movie that will give you the adrenaline rush. Slated to release on Diwali this year, the film stars Aamir, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Shashank Arora. It will be set in the 19th century, following the story of a thug and his team.
14. Aquaman
Justice League saw Jason Momoa as Aquaman, finally depicted in the right way. DC’s hero is set for his stand-alone movie that will follow his origin story. Drool-worthy abs, humour and lots of action will await you on 21st December. Get ready to welcome a superhero we needed from the DC universe.
15. Zero
Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma come together for Anand L Rai’s Zero, a movie that is going to be an entertainer for the audience. The first look of the movie came out recently, where we see Shahrukh playing a dwarf. The film is scheduled to release on 21st December 2018.
