After Game Of Thrones, our standards of television series have been high. Season 6 ended with what we have been waiting for since the beginning of the most famous drama series in the world, and we just cannot wait for June 2017. Unable to get hooked to another show that’s at least up to the mark? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. As there’s still time for us to know whether Daenerys will kill Cersei and marry Jon, here are the shows to watch until Game Of Thrones season 7 –
1. Narcos
Following the life of perhaps the most notorious criminal in history, Narcos is what you need to believe that crazy things happen in the real world too. Pablo Escobar, the Colombian drug lord who became the 10th richest man in the world, and led a drug empire by the 1990s, smuggling drugs to the United States and many other countries, is around whom the first two seasons of this Netflix original series revolves. Narcos is a must watch for anyone who loves the crime-thriller genre. Lavish lifestyle, women, uncountable money and the world at his feet are just some of the perks of being a drug lord like Pablo Escobar. Now that it’s renewed for another two seasons, you better keep up.
2. The Night Of
Based on the first season of British television drama Criminal Justice, The Night Of has successfully been able to garner positive reviews from the people. Following the life of Nasir Khan, a Pakistani-American college student who is accused of murdering a girl in New York City, which he does not remember any of it. Charged with homicide, Nasir pleads not guilty in front of the court which leads to a trial. Did he or did he not? Watch to find out. 3. Making A Murderer
If you watch Game Of Thrones, watching shows about murderers isn’t a big deal really. This Netflix original series follows the true story of Steve Avery, who was wrongfully tried and found guilty for conviction of sexual assault and attempted murder. Filing a lawsuit against the county on the case, the documentary television series follows the arrest prosecution and conviction of Steve Avery and how he fought back against injustice. Made over the course of ten years, Making A Murderer garnered mostly positive reviews from the people, with more and more people following it religiously (including celebrities).
4. American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson
The most publicized trial in American history, the first season of American Crime Story highlights the infamous O.J Simpson murder trial that garnered national attention. Simpson, a well-known American football player was accused of the murder of his wife, her friend and a restaurant waiter. While most of the people believed him to be guilty, Simpson pleaded not guilty to the court which led to the trial. Gripping, based on true events, and a spectacular cast including our very own Ross (David Schwimmer) playing Robert Kardashian (Simpson’s lawyer and friend), American Crime Story will keep you hooked.
5. Veep
If you want to take a break from all the violence, murders and bloodshed, you can shift to the genre that never disappoints. Winning the Best Comedy Series at Emmy’s 2015, and nominated again in the same category, Veep is a political satire starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Ending with the 5th season in June 2016, you definitely have a lot of episodes to watch that will keep you until the 7th season of Game Of Thrones. Set in the office of a fictional Vice President, Selina Meyer and her team try to leave a lasting legacy without getting involved in the political games. Jennifer Lawrence is also a Veep fan, just so you know.
