If there’s one show that doesn’t fail to scare the shit out of their fans and keep them on their toes, it has to be Game Of Thrones. The makers never fail to astonish the viewers, even if the tool is as simple as a poster. Yesterday, the new GOT trailer was launched and once again, we don’t know what to expect.
When the first teaser for Season 7 named Sigils was introduced, we can here Robb’s and Bran’s discussion in Season 1 as a voice over. It was then we all knew, this Macumber is going to play an iconic role in the next season. With the teaser, our doubts are clear.
As it begins, we see Cersei, Daenerys and Jon walking towards their thrones. Cersei, the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms makes her way to the Iron Thrones, Daenerys makes her way to some throne we don’t know about yet, and Jon walks to sit as the King in the North. Titled as Long Walk, the trailer shows us the three potential rulers of the Seven Kingdoms right now. Cersei, Dany and Jon are going to give us more reasons as to why we love the show so much.
However, the best part of the trailer isn’t in the long walks. It is in the end, like every GOT episode. Sitting on the Iron Throne, Cersei breathes out cold air. You know what that means? Ned Stark is saying “I told you so” in heaven. That’s right, Winter Is Here. And it’s here to stay. The fight isn’t between the people anymore. It’s going to be the war of two worlds. The White Walkers are approaching. But an even better thing happens after this. You remember Macumber? Let me take you a few seasons behind.
There have been two references to Macumber in the series as of now. The first time, Robb tells Bran about how Old Nan told him that the sky is blue because they all live inside the eye of a blue-eyed giant called ‘Macumber’, to which Bran says, maybe it is true. The second time, Tywin, the guy we all have a love and hate relationship with, tells Oberyn that some people believe Joffrey choked and died. Oberyn mentions Macumber again, saying some people believe that the whole world lives in Macumber’s eyes, dismissing this as a fairy tale and saying Joffrey was indeed poisoned.
At the end of Long Walk, it is shown that it was all indeed happening in the eye of a blue eyed giant who looks freakishly similar to the Night’s King. We don’t know that yet, however, we do know that the next seasons will be getting down to business.
On 16th July, the first episode will be aired. As a GOT fan, I know the wait is tough. Watch the trailer below and get ready for some goosebumps.
