Happy Children’s Day, everyone! Oh, those days! Those wonderful moments of our lives that will stay with us forever. Childhood is the most innocent, fun and beautiful time of our life. The only stress in our life was to complete homework on time. We didn’t have to worry about the world, its ways or anything that stresses us now. Life was so much better then. While those days will never come back, here’s a lit of things that will remind you of your childhood, taking you back to those priceless cherished memories –
1. Phantom Cigarettes
We’re all guilty of popping these in our mouths and acting like we are smoking for real. There is photographic evidence of you doing this, don’t deny.
2. Tennis Ball
Chipping in money with our building buddies to by these balls only to lose is something we have all done. Imagine how many of these must be lying in the gutter.
3. Cassettes
Back in those days, we didn’t have the internet to download songs from. These rectangular things used to be our music, recordings, toys, everything.
4. Juicies
These ice candies used to be happiness wrapped in plastic. After those summer days cricket sessions on the field, these used to be our go-to refreshments.
5. Lagori
Collecting flat stones with our buddies used to be a recreational activity. For adults, they were just stones. But for us, they were a part of a really cool game.
6. Paper boats
Others awaited the monsoons for different reasons. For children like us, monsoons meant organizing paper boat competitions in the water puddles.
7. Uncle Chips
If these chips made you want to lick the last bit of masala left in the packet, you were born in the right generation. Even today, seeing Uncle Chips at stalls brings back happy memories.
8. Geometry Box
The school reopening in June/July meant buying a new geometry box. Although the whole year we only opened it for like four times, we treated it as a necessity.
9. Slam Books
Last day of the academic year used to be the best. Everyone had a slam book that had to be filled by our classmates which would make us remember each one of them.
10. Cycles
Who remembers getting a cycle on their 10th birthday? Probably, all of us. Roaming around on cycle with our buddies used to be the best way to spend summer.
Happy Children’s Day!
