The very start of the year hit us with Salt Bae, a chef who’s putting salt on meat technique took the internet by storm. Not only did his video went viral, but also many memes were made on the same. Thank for everything, Salt Bae.
2. Kangana Ranaut on Aapki Adaalat
The whole Hrithik and Kangana fiasco already made everyone wonder who was wrong and who was right. We’re still in the dark there, but at least a good meme came out of that. Kangana’s interview on Aapki Adaalat gave birth to this meme.

You can trust the internet to make memes out of anything and everything. Our phones were bombarded with messages that said linking Aadhaar card to our mobile number was mandatory. This gave rise to a hilarious meme to hit the internet.

One of the many things that shocked the world last year was Donald Trump becoming the POTUS. Trump is known to be quite vocal on his Twitter. However, one of his tweets was undecipherable. We decided to make memes out of it instead.

Biswa Kalyan Rath is a well-known stand-up comedian of our country. One of his videos that were put up last year turned into a popular meme this year. This joke also got featured on 9gag, which is a huge deal. Thank you for this, Biswa.
8. Priyanka Chopra’s MET outfit
Priyanka Chopra, a global icon now, gave us a reason to laugh on with her MET Gala outfit this year. The long trench coat train was turned into a meme as soon as it was debuted on the red carpet. Didn’t she look absolutely gorgeous though?
9. Koi Nahi Aayega
Newton was one of the biggest Bollywood films this year. Too bad, it’s out of the Oscar race but it will remain special for us. Another thing that this brilliant film gave us was this meme that trended on the internet and made us laugh our hearts out.
10. Pennywise
It was without a doubt one of the scariest movies to release this year. Pennywise, the dancing clown, brought back our fear of jokers. Another thing he gave birth to is this hilarious meme where he baits people into the drains. Well played, Pennywise.
