Bollywood Movies That Teach Us About Friendship

Bollywood may set high standards for friendship, but let’s face it, we can’t help but adore it! From heartwarming classics like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to modern hits like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, these movies have taught us that our friends are our chosen family. Certainly, some of the experiences depicted on screen may seem unattainable, such as embarking on a lavish vacation in Spain complete with scuba diving and all (not everyone has that much budget 🙁 ). Nevertheless, it’s okay to have aspirations, isn’t it? So, let’s continue to commemorate the influence of friendship, Bollywood-style!

1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Evergreen Bollywood Movie) –

Are you a huge sucker for “friends-to-lovers” stories? Look no further than this Bollywood masterpiece! With its iconic love triangle, catchy songs, and top-notch acting, this movie is an absolute legend. The best part? The teasing and friendship between the characters will have you grinning from ear to ear. It’s sad Bollywood don’t make movies like this anymore – ’90s kids truly lucked out. And if someone tells you this Bollywood’s Gem movie defined their childhood, believe them!

Although, let’s be real – we all wish Anjali (the elder) had still kicked Rahul’s butt in summer camp instead of turning all “girlyfied”.

2. 3 Idiots –

Well, let’s just say that “3 idiots” is less a movie and more an emotional roller coaster that jerks and twists your heartstrings in every direction possible! From rib-tickling comedy to heart-wrenching drama, this masterpiece by Rajkumar Hirani has it all. The on-screen chemistry of all the three actors is so natural and effortless, you can’t help but root for their friendship from the opening scene.

But let’s be real, the true star of the movie is Omi Vaidya, aka “Chatur”. His speech at the college function was an absolute riot and had everyone in stitches! It was hands-down the most entertaining thing we’ve seen in a while.

If you haven’t watched this Bollywood Superhit yet, what are you waiting for? Go grab some popcorn and tissues and buckle up for a ride you won’t forget in a hurry! #AllIzzWell

3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara –

If you’re looking for a movie that will make you laugh, cry, and want to live life to the fullest, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” is the perfect choice. This movie is one of those rare Bollywood gems that make you want to travel the world, change your life, and call up your buddies to thank them for being such awesome friends!

First and foremost, let’s address the flawless casting. You can’t help but laugh and cry with them as they go on a life-changing road trip across Spain. The movie will make you want to pack your bags and jump on the next flight to Europe.

One of the standout moments of the movie is the Bunjee Jumping scene. Watching the three friends conquer their fears and push each other to take the leap of faith was incredibly inspiring. It’s rare to see such honest and raw representations of male friendship on screen, but “ZNMD” did it with such flair and grace.

4. Dil Chahta Hai –

Oh boy, where do I even begin with “Dil Chahta Hai”? This movie is like a soothing balm for the soul, a coming-of-age masterpiece that celebrates friendship, love, and the journey called life.

What sets “Dil Chahta Hai” apart from other Bollywood movies is how relatable it is. We’ve all had those moments in life where we feel lost or disconnected, and it’s during those times that we need our friends the most. The movie does a terrific job of showcasing the ups and downs of friendship and how it evolves over time.

It’s a movie that celebrates the beauty of life and teaches us to cherish the people we love. So, grab a glass of your favorite beverage, curl up with your friends, and watch this cinematic masterpiece because trust me, it’s worth it.

5. Jane tu ya Jane na (Bollywood’s Gem) –

Ah, “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”. What a delightfully quirky and charming movie this is! This one had every one of us hooked from start to finish.

The film revolves around two childhood friends, played by Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza, who are on the brink of adulthood and struggling with the complications that come with growing up.

What I loved most about “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” was its ability to reel me in with its relatable characters and snappy dialogue. Imran’s character, Jai, with his complicated love life and tendency to get himself into trouble, had me laughing out loud. And Genelia’s Aditi was the perfect balance of spunky and vulnerable – the kind of girl you can’t help but root for.

Overall, “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” is an excellent rom-com that will have you rooting for the characters, laughing out loud, and maybe even shedding a tear or two. So, go ahead and grab some popcorn, snuggle up with your loved one and enjoy this delightful film.
