The India vs England series was a special game for all of us. Everyone’s eyes were on Virat Kohli as he took charge as the team captain leading the boys towards glory. It was hard on all of us to see Captain Cool not play as a captain anymore but we’ve made our peace with it (not really). Among these cricket giants, everyone else could have passed easily ignored by all cricket fans as Yuvraj Singh, another fan favourite was shining like a star throughout. However, Yuzvendra Chahal made sure people know who he is and remember him for a long time. With an incredible performance in the last game against England, we all know that Yuzvendra Chahal is a star in the making.
After the 1st and 2nd match of the India vs England T-20 series, the first match was won by England which was played in Kanpur. Winning the second one in Nagpur, the series was tied by 1-1 with all eyes on the match which would be played at Bengaluru. It was an important series as this would be the very first time we would win a T-20 series against England. Virat’s magic as the captain prevailed in the second game with a hope that maybe, this was achievable too.
It was time for the third match and the excitement among the fans and players cannot be conveyed in words. India batted first scoring 202 with 6 men down. The score was pretty decent but it had become more important to restrain England for reaching that. After the first wicket, it took a long time to take the second. Amit Mishra took the third wicket and then it was time for some Chahal action. Taking the fourth and fifth wicket consecutively, Yuzvendra ended up taking 6 wickets for team India leading us all to glory. Virat Kohli’s happiness could not be contained as it was a very important win under his captaincy.
It took a lot of years for Yuzvendra to play in the squad. He’s played many IPL matches, first in Mumbai Indians and then in Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the Ranji games, his aura as a bowler would often get overshadowed by Amit Mishra. But in the last T-20 game, Yuzvendra showed us exactly what he’s capable of. Team India’s future is definitely in the right hands.
Keep shining, stunner.
